Welcome to Keels the Hobby Hopper

If you’re looking for someone who has dedicated the last ten years to mastering one craft…

…you took a wrong turn.

Welcome to Keels the Hobby Hopper, the internet’s newest support group for people whose brains wake up every morning and say:

“Today’s personality? Professional baker.”

Then three days later…

“Actually, we’re medieval blacksmiths now.”

Then the following week…

“Forget both of those. We’re learning to draw anime, training for a triathlon, watching every Studio Ghibli movie in chronological order, and researching how expensive it would be to own a goat.”

This is my life.

Hi! I’m Keels.

I have what I like to call Golden Retriever Energy™, except instead of chasing tennis balls, I chase hobbies.

One month I’m filling sketchbooks with art.

The next month I’m convinced I should become a filmmaker.

Then suddenly I’m learning about gardening, reading fantasy novels, trying a new workout routine, binge-watching anime, researching real estate, writing short stories at 2:00 a.m., and somehow convincing myself I absolutely need to buy supplies for yet another hobby I’ll “definitely stick with this time.”

Spoiler alert…

I usually don’t.

And honestly?

I’ve spent a long time feeling guilty about that.

Social media tells us we’re supposed to “find our one passion.”

Pick a niche.

Become an expert.

Build your identity around one thing.

Meanwhile my brain is over here treating hobbies like they’re Pokémon.

“Gotta try ’em all.”

So instead of fighting it, I decided to embrace it.

This blog isn’t about becoming the world’s greatest anything.

It’s about becoming someone who’s never afraid to be curious.

You’ll find all kinds of chaos here.

One week I might post artwork.

The next week I’ll review an anime that emotionally destroyed me.

Then maybe you’ll get a movie review nobody asked for, a short story I wrote at midnight because an idea wouldn’t leave me alone, or an update on whatever random obsession has temporarily hijacked my personality.

Will there be consistency?

Absolutely not.

Will there be enthusiasm?

Way too much.

My hope is that this becomes a place where people can celebrate curiosity instead of apologizing for it.

Maybe you’ve started ten hobbies and only finished two.

Maybe your bookshelf looks like an identity crisis.

Maybe your Amazon purchase history should be classified.

Maybe you’ve got half-finished crochet projects sitting next to a guitar you swore you’d learn… next to painting supplies… next to a sourdough starter that’s become sentient.

You’re in good company.

So grab a snack, click around, laugh at my latest hyperfixation, and maybe discover a new hobby you’ll inevitably become obsessed with for the next six days.

Life’s too short to only be interested in one thing.

Welcome to the wonderfully chaotic adventure that is Keels the Hobby Hopper.
